More than just a bike ride

I originally wanted to take part in the 2016 London to Paris Cycle because I wanted a sporting achievement of some description.

However, upon completion of the event on behalf of Mental Health Foundation I realised that the most important thing wasn’t the achievement, the medal or even the money raised. The most important thing was that my story of mental health struggles were out in the open.

By sharing my story of poor mental health I surprised a lot of people. A lot of people then started to share stories of their own. With that the journey to end the stigma carried on in the right direction. That’s better than any medal.
